Cleanup AI is a macOS utility designed to scan and organize only the folders you choose. The app does not require an account, subscription, or purchase.

Data processed on your Mac

Folder bookmarks, file metadata, scan indexes, cleanup selections, duplicate hashes, organization plans, settings, and activity history are stored locally. File contents are used only by local macOS file operations and local duplicate hashing. Cleanup AI does not upload file contents.

Network features

Local-only mode prevents optional network features. When network access is enabled, the app may request feature configuration from our service. If a cloud-assisted metadata feature is explicitly used and available, it may send a generated item identifier, filename, extension, and broad category. It does not send file contents or absolute file paths.

Optional analytics

Privacy-safe analytics are off unless you enable them. Submitted events are limited to aggregate names, counts, durations, app version, and macOS version. They exclude file names, folder names, paths, file contents, and stable device identifiers.

Permissions

Cleanup AI uses macOS security-scoped folder access for folders you select. You can remove a managed folder or revoke its access at any time. The app does not scan outside the scope you grant.

Retention and sharing

Local data remains on your Mac until you remove it or uninstall the app. Limited service configuration and opted-in aggregate analytics may be retained for operations and reliability. We do not sell personal data or use Cleanup AI data for advertising.

Your choices

You can keep Local-only mode enabled, leave analytics disabled, remove folder access, clear activity through app controls, and delete the app’s local data using standard macOS controls.
